She connects us with thought leaders and key media who want to know us. In addition, as my company was looking for Series B funding, we had to show investors that carpooling.com was a tech company with tremendous potential. Marissa was instrumental in helping me reach out to top tier media with the right tone and story angles. We got coverage in The New York Times, FastCompany, Forbes within just a couple of months. And we got funded!”

That's not what Green Spaces is about. Sure, it's a co-working space full of insanely talented individuals and a bunch of companies with such great premises that you wish you founded them. But you already knew that - why else would Green Spaces receive such sparkling endorsements from the New York Times and the BBC (to name a couple)? What I really love about the space is the community it holds.

With regular social events, including the famous Wednesday idea bounce lunch (worth attending just for the yummy dumplings), what is a really just a big room full of cool businesses and solopreneurs actually becomes a pretty tight unit. Oh, other co-working spaces have a similar vibe? Interactions in other spaces I've experienced extend to fist bumps, or a brief chat about last night's big game if you're lucky. In Green Spaces, a mosey over to the coffee maker could just be the most productive thing you do all day. What was meant to be a quick splash and dash, can easily develop into an in-depth conversation about the challenges your business is currently facing, and result in receiving an invaluable piece of insight to take with you.

Whether it's the living wall (an entire inside wall covered in plants), the infectious smiles of Marissa Feinberg and Eva Navon (the ladies behind the operation), or the quiet murmur of constant chitter chatter between members - the place is brimming with energy."

The passion among members is unmistakable - Macbooks abound, piloted by a diverse and spirited group of entrepreneurs. It felt much more like the offices of a dotcom than a standard office; a hard-working set of serious business people with a mission to make the world a better place, and help each other to do it.

In a city full of compartmentalized workspaces, Green Spaces is a network and indeed a family of business people who support one another. The community aspect itself is most impressive. Principals open up their rolodexes and put together events that connect members with leaders of industry and entrepreneurship.

Beginning with the communal, comfortable space layout, to furniture that is re-purposed and filled with character, and regularly scheduled idea bounces for networking, this business skillfully taps into the strength in diversity and shared commitment, and shares the benefits with its participants.

I recommend Green Spaces without reservation to any hard-working professional looking to maximize their chances for success, minimize their carbon footprint in doing so, or both!

People who had space and people who needed it. People whose backs were hurting from working at Starbucks. People who were sick of commuting. People who were seeking moments of connection and friendship to brighten the work day. People who said, “I want more out of my life and my work.”

And she was up for it.

I figured we could make a site and people could get to work. I started out trying to get more productive, and what’s happened is my life has been transformed not by all the work I’ve banged out but by the relationships I’ve made with all of you. You are open. You are passionate. You are making your own rules…and in so doing, you are making our world so so beautiful.

Yes, the search needs work. Yes, the pages could load faster. But we couldn’t ask for a better group of people to be on this adventure with.

You’ve made my life more full. My days more productive. My evenings more fun. Thank you for your generosity of spirit, your willingness to share, andyour willingness to believe that it is possible to change the way the world works.

You guys are making it happen, one day and one conversation, one shared experience at a time. We may be a small movement now, but we’re growing stronger every day. I can feel it.
